After a few months off from posting and paper crafting I’m finally back! What have I been up to? Well, I did a lot of canning from the over abundant crop of tomatoes and figs this year. I think the VERY hot weather here in So Cal is just what the tomatoes and figs needed. What did I do with all the bounty??? I made sauce and jam and then I canned all of it!! My canner was going full tilt for a few days.!
I tried a new recipe for my figs this year, Fig Jam with Orange Zest! A total “YUM” in my mouth! The recipe is from Preserving Italy by Domenica Marchetti. I know, I know you and I don”t need another preserving book BUT I love this book, great recipes; plus I took six books to the second hand store. I’m totally justified…in my mind, lol.
The tomato sauce recipe came from the book Food in Jars by Marisa McClellan! Another great book that I have had on the shelf for awhile; plus it is for small batch preserving.
Even with all the canning I still had time to be in my craft room; it really needed cleaning and organizing!
