ODBD October Release

Happy October everyone! Where has this year gone? It’s already October first and I’m sure in a blink of an eye Christmas will be here! So to help you get a jump start for the holiday rush ODBD’s newest release is here!

My first card has a simple 3D ornament detail. I cut six of the plain ornament, from the Elegant Embellishments die set, scored through the middle and folded each in half. Then glued each half together to create the ornament you see here! You can make your ornament from any of the beautiful papers from the Christmas Collection 2015 paper pack!

For my background I used the largest die from the Vintage Flourish Pattern die set cut from white cardstock and adhered it to a red card base. From red paper I cut the large label from the same die set, stamped the corresponding border from the Flourish Labels Border set and heat embossed using gold. Glued my ornament to the center and added a jewel to the top.

My sentiment, from the Christmas Tunes stamp set, was heat embossed in gold and die cut using the Vintage Labels die set.

My next card uses the dies from the Elegant Embellishments die set. I cut three openings in a white panel, adhered that to paper from the Christmas Collection 2014. I then cut three fancy ornaments from silver cardstock and glued to the panel.

I added a small bow and rhinestone to the top of each ornament!

My sentiment, heat embossed in blue, is from the Christmas Tunes stamp set and is cut out using the Antique Labels & Border die set. I cut the small label flourish, from the Vintage Flourish Pattern die set, using silver cardstock, cut the label in half and added to my sentiment label.

Both cards are lovely … I like the empty space of the second that makes the ornaments stand out, and love the 3-D "wow" of the first card!

The red, white and gold is fantastic. Beautiful gold embossing and cording. Love the way the ornament is folded (popped out). The second card is also beautiful. The silver with the rhinestones and ribbon really add to the color of the designer paper. Just beautiful.

Oh my goodness – both of your cards are gorgeous. I just love your 3D ornament in the first card! I am going to have to try that. Such an elegant card! I thought it would be my favorite of your two cards (I hadn’t scrolled down to see the 2nd one yet!), but when I saw the 2nd card I was just blown away at how lovely it is! I love your silver ornaments and how you used them with the softly colored dp. I would hate to have to choose which card is my fav now! I love them both! Thanks for sharing!

I love your 3-D ornament the best but I love the other with pastel colors and silver a LOT too! I have made those 3-D ornaments before to hang, never thought of using it half closed on a card…brilliant! I love the little jewels you used at the top of each ornament on your second card as well, just gorgeous little touch of elegance!
